About six months ago, I realized that things were going to get pretty tight. I had some hours get cut at work, and my paycheck, due to the slowing economy, was going to get pretty small. I figured that I would have enough for rent, for groceries, and for gas. As far as my car went, it was all paid for already… but I figured up that I would not have enough money coming in to keep my current car insurance up to date. I contemplated looking for some Cheap Car Insurance that would save me money, as the premiums I was paying were way beyond my price range… however, in the heat of the moment, I put it off. I instead, opted to let my insurance policy go out to save money.
Well, this worked out alright for about 4 and a half months… until one night I got pulled over by the police. I wasn’t speeding, I didn’t run a red-light, nor was I trying to attract attention to myself. I was actually trying to NOT get pulled over, because I knew that if I did, I would get into some trouble for not having proof of insurance in my vehicle. However, I didn’t realize that a bulb was burnt out from my license plate light, and the police also said that my muffler was out of order, because my car was louder than the local sound-ordinance allowed. This would have been a simple ticket to take care of, except that I had let my insurance policy lapse! So, because I failed to look for cheap car insurance, I got my car impounded, got a hefty ticket, and had to borrow money to pay for both the towing fee, and for the ticket and impounding charges! Needless to say, I am in worse financial trouble now than I would have been had I simply taken the time to get cheap car insurance from a company that I trusted. |
